Michigan Wildlife Solutions Pricing
A Wildlife Control Price Guide For Wildlife Encounters
Since we started nearly 20 years ago, the wildlife control industry in Michigan has changed significantly. Initially, the DNR handled most nuisance wildlife issues at no charge, but as demand grew, they shifted to regulating and permitting private wildlife control services. Today, wildlife control is a paid service, and companies like ours must be DNR-permitted to operate.
When we began, the market had few competitors, and pricing was closely guarded. Now, with competition rising, especially from pest control companies branching into wildlife management, we believe transparency is key. Rather than hiding our prices, we’ve decided to share common pricing upfront to avoid any surprise costs. Keep in mind that every situation is unique, and prices can vary based on the specifics of each job. We hope this helps you better understand the industry and the costs involved.

How Much Does Wildlife Control Cost? | Pricing to Solve Your Nuisance Wildlife Matter
Inspections | Service Call
Hearing noises in the attic or have you had a critter in the house? A wildlife inspection can solve your nuisance wildlife matter
In the past, we would charge for inspections of homes. This was pretty customary in the wildlife control industry. You would be charged an inspection fee of $100-$200. The cost of the inspection would come from your service invoice. Now there are many large firms and pest control companies no longer charging you for inspections. This is a disadvantage to companies who charge for their services. As of 2017 we no longer charge for Inspections within our services area. However for service calls to your home for a bat in the house, raccoon in the fireplace, or any other service provided we do charge a service fee. Also for homes outside of our daily service area, there may be a charge.
Inspection Cost: Free for customers within our service area.
Service Call: $100-$200 depending on the location of our Main Office
Emergency Service Charge
Do you have a bat in the house or an animal stuck in the fireplace or window well? We have wildlife control operators 7 days a week.
We used to go to customers' houses all the time after hours when we first got started in the wildlife control business. This takes a lot of manpower or not much sleep in order to service a 24-hour business. We forgave a 24-hour service a few years ago, but have considered going 24 hours again. We do however operate 7 days a week for emergencies during our normal business hours. For emergencies such as a bat in the house, there is a charge to remove the animal.
Service Fee: $100-$350 Depending on the time of day or if on Sunday.
Animal Trapping Charge
We are an animal trapping company located in South East, MI. We have a detailed price guide for animals below.
Things to consider when pricing for animal trapping services...
- What type of animal are we trapping
- How many animals are we trapping
- How hard is it to trap said animal
There are two types of ways to charge for animal trapping...
- Set-up Fee plus per animal removed: This is the most common and has been used by many companies since day one. Essentially you pay an inspection/set-up fee for traps for us to come to your home. This covers the cost set the traps, bait, and re-bait traps. The per-animal charge is paid every time an animal is captured and relocated. This is also called a relocation charge. Often times we use the same bait for many types of animals and can catch a non-targeted animal. There is a charge for nontargeted animals at a discounted rate. The benefit to this method is you may end up paying less if there is only one animal or two captured. The problem with this is sometimes we may have to remove a lot of animals and per animal cost will go up.
- All-inclusive Price: This is a new method many companies have started going to. This ensures the customer knows exactly what they are being charged upfront. You will be charged upfront for a job. You pay a price no matter how many animals are caught. Sometimes that is zero animals. The benefit is knowing upfront how much the job will cost no matter how many animals are caught. The problem with this is if the problem animal moves on like a skunk because they run out of food source, then you are stuck paying the entire bill. This is a results business. You are paying for the problem to be solved. Whether they are captured or move on their own you are paying to have the problem solved.
Set Up Fee | Per animal: $150-$350 set-up | $100- $250 per
All Inclusive: $750-$1,500 depending on the problem animal.
Attic Restoration Charges
This is usually a pretty straightforward charge. Every attic is charged based on the square footage. However, there are some things to consider when estimating the cost of attic restoration...
- The depth of the insulation being taken out.
- The type of insulation being taken out.
- The number of droppings or nesting to be removed.
- The size of the dumpster needed for the job.
- How much insulation is being added?
- Will there need to be odor control such as Fiberlock Aftershock installed?
- How tight is the attic? Is there room to move around?
Dumpster Charge: $450-$800
Attic Restoration Per Square Foot: $4-$8 per foot. For 1,000 square foot attic, you can expect to pay between $4,000 and $9,000 to have the attic fully restored.
Some Homeowner's Insurance Cover the Charge of Attic Restoration
Wildlife Repair Prevention Pricing
Getting rid of nuisance wildlife is only the first step. Repairing entry points on the home is the step to keeping your home pest free.
The most important part of wildlife control is keeping the critters from coming back. However, this is oftentimes the most costly. Preventing animals and birds from getting into your home has gotten much better over the years with the help of new products such as Ridge-Guard, Xclusion Pro vent covers, solar seal, hardware cloth, excluder fabric, and much more. But with a premium, there comes a cost of doing business. Wildlife damage control jobs were much cheaper when we started because there weren't as many products to help. Basically, screens, caulking, and flashing were used to keep animals out. Things were cheap, but you also got what you paid for. In reality, profit margins remain the same, but the cost of doing jobs goes up with product cost. This service we provide has the highest fluctuation in cost. Every house is unique and requires special pricing per home. There is no one price fits all repair job. Below are our ballpark pricing guides for you to better understand the cost.
Caulking: $5- $10 per linear foot. We only use premium products such as Solar Seal. Cost for caulking depends on the steepness of the roof, how high up we are caulking, and the size of the gaps.
Ridge-Guard: $16-$24 per ridge vent foot (both sides). This cost of ridge guard installation typically depends on the steepness of your roof (4/12 to 12/12 pitch), How many different sections of ridge vent there are, How high the roof is, and how many ladders move there are.
Roof Vent Covers: $75-$300. The steepness of the roof and the size of the vent cover needed play the most important factor in pricing out vent covers.
Gable Vent Screens: $75-$200. Amount of screen and size of screen needed. We use 1/8" and 1/4" screens from the outside.
Chimney Caps: $100 to $300. Cost depends on how high up and the style of a chimney cap is needed.
Roof Return Repairs: $45-$75. Roof returns can be the number one point of entry for all wildlife. Our price is just an average price. They can sometimes be more depending on the materials needed, the size of the opening, the steepness of the roof, and how high up they are.
Again there is no one price fits all job. They are all unique in their own way. There are many factors. The Steepness of the roof, size, and condition of the home are all factors and play a role. Some wildlife repair jobs may only cost around $400. Others may cost a couple of thousand dollars. Commercial jobs and large homes may cost several thousand dollars. It really just depends on the home or building.
